Her mother was visiting family there when she gave birth to her. Her mother made a decision to stay in China and raise her daughter there. From brith her mother talked to her in English, Chinese and Japanese. By the time Aimi was only 4 she had started kindergarten. She was very smart and picked up on things faster then most of her classmates.
By the time Aimi was six her mother had fallen ill with cancer. This made it very hard for Aimi to stay in school. A year passed before her mother died in a hospital leaving Aimi alone with her grandparents. Her grandparents could not afford to keep her around so they made the hard decision to send her to Japan to live with her dad. When she had gotten to Japan her dad was very happy to have her.
When she had gotten home she was amazed at how big her father's home was. A few months passed by before she started school there. She instantly fell in love with school. In school she learned more Japanese and English. Her father forced her to study all the time when she was younger. He did not like her having much of a social life. Her only escape was music and she taught her self how to play the piano.
When she entered middle when she turned 14 she met Kyoya and Tamaki. She instantly fell head over heels for Kyoya. This caused her to start to slip a little in school. Her dad was angry with her but, could not do much to stop Aimi from falling in love or from making friends or stop her grades from slipping.
By the time she entered high school she had become very close friends with Tamaki and Kyoya. They helped her with her studies. She was grateful for this until one day in the middle of their sophomore year when Kyoya started to act more distant to her. This made her very upset so she decided to confront him about the problem. He told her that he was a part of the host club at the school and couldn't be around her much. This made Aimi very upset and she started to become jealous of a lot of girls. She soon started to become a very shy person because of this pain and would get into fights easy. Even though she had become a very shy person she did not stop talking to eather Tamaki or Kyoya.
A few years passed by and Aimi had made only a hand full of new friends. She was still in love with her best friend and didn't know how to express her feelings so he could understand. So before they graduated she had wrote him a long letter explaining her feelings towards him. This made Kyoya feel less empty inside. But, he did not respond to her letter at all.
